Structural Simulation

Dassault Systemes is a French 3DExperience Company that provides virtual universe to businesses around the world. SIMULIA formerly known as Abaqus is a part of DS that delivers realistic simulation experiences. The Research and Development team that I was a part of, is responsible for the development and performance monitoring of the Structural Scenario Creation Tool. It is a tool that is used for creating simulations for prototypes which are created using other DS tools like CATIA.

The Structural Scenario Creation Tool is used for simulation of complex and heavy mechanical design elements. The complexity induces delay in performance of the tool and the team required an enterprise widget dashboard, that would log the timer data for each simulation. The challenge involved multiple stages:
1. Understanding the
existing  tool output
2. Redesigning the UX
of the output dashboard
3. Modifying the source
code with timer macros
4. Developing the UI
of the dashboard widget

Update: The widget is now embedded in the Manager's Dashboard and used by the team for performance monitoring of the scenario creation tool.
